I've recently made a purchase of some indoor plants. of course, this is nothing new. but I've saved a lot of money because they were on sale!
when I got them, they looked good for a few days, and then things started to go bad. the flowers took an especially bad turn and they wilted like crazy. keep in mind that the other green-leaves-only plants did just fine with the amount of water and light I provided them with. the flowers however, not so much. these were flowers imported from Holland, or some other fancy European country, so you kinda know that they won't do so well here in Kuwait. but I bought them anyway. the flowers looked really good in the showroom, but they didn't last very long within my home. I don't know what they do to them at the showroom to make them looks so good and last so long, but I need to learn that trick!
after sometime I decided to move the flowers into bigger pots. I figured that they may do better in new soil. at first they retained their withered appearance, but I kept watering them. I added some nutrients to the soil to kick start the regeneration process, as I know a little love goes a long way. I used some fertilizer pikes from the wide range that MiracleGro has. those little pikes have given me so much in terms in making my plants grow nicer and healthier, so I've always enjoyed using them. I always know that withering plants just need a little extra push to come back to life, and so I didn't give up on my dying flowers.
true to its glorious name, a miracle did in fact occur. I got a new hope. new flowers are now growing out of the old, dying flowers that wilted and withered away.
so you see, plants can be restored with a little more care and a lot of faith in nature. of course, you also need to know what to actually do to restore them: water, soil, nutrients.
I believe in learning from nature, and therefore I know that human souls can be restored in a similar manner:
- water --> drink 8 glasses a day! and be sure to do out in rain when the weather allows - and if your mom says it's ok!
- soil --> stay true to your roots and replenish your surroundings. your "soil" is anything that keeps you grounded and helps you to grow, so allow yourself to be enveloped by what you like and all the things that bring you joy. adding new things to your life will help to refresh you and replenish your soul, thus making your "soil" that much more healthy; which will in turn make you healthy.
- nutrients --> while, I don't exactly recommend that you try out the MiracleGro pikes on yourself (ehem), I will tell you that the things you eat do influence how you feel. all these things that you put into your body (through digestion) will determine how your life will end up like. eating yummy sugary things will indeed make you happy, but in the long term sadness will be all that you have. eating your fruits and veggies (and carbs and dairy) like your mom said will help your body to reach its full potential.
and that right there is how your plants will get better, so learn from them to help your life get better.
